Osoyoos is Open

The South Okanagan Needs Your Support: Osoyoos is Open

First and foremost, our thoughts are with the residents of Summerland and the surrounding communities who have been displaced or impacted by the Bald Range wildfire.

We’re deeply grateful to the firefighters, first responders, Emergency Support Services teams, volunteers, and everyone working tirelessly to protect our communities and support those forced from their homes. The health, safety, and well-being of everyone affected remains the top priority.

Amid it all, businesses in the South Okanagan are doing everything they can to stay open and keep serving those living in the area or anyone planning a visit.

In times like this, community strength is everything. As our local hotels step up to welcome displaced families, many people have reached out to ask how things are looking in Osoyoos and how they can best support the region.

Osoyoos remains clear, safe, and open. For those who have upcoming visits or golf trips planned, please know that our doors are open and conditions are clear. Choosing to keep your plans, when safe to do so, is a deeply appreciated way to stand with the local businesses and workers who make the South Okanagan such a welcoming place.

Tourism is vital to the South Okanagan. Our hotels, restaurants, wineries, golf courses, and small businesses rely heavily on visitors throughout the summer season. These businesses employ hundreds of local residents whose livelihoods depend on a strong community economy.

One of the most meaningful ways you can support our region is by continuing to visit the communities that are open and ready to welcome you. Your visit to Osoyoos provides incredible support and is greatly appreciated.

If you are travelling through the region, we ask that you remain informed, respect all evacuation boundaries and emergency restrictions, follow the directions of first responders, and check current road conditions before travelling.
